Strings

Strings are the musical instruments with strings played by a bow, a pick or by fingers.

String instruments of various types were used by the Ancient Greeks, which differed in shape, size and name. The Ancient Greeks did not acknowledge the use of the bow and usually played directly with fingers.

The orchestral string instruments are the four belonging to the violin family, which are played with a bow, and the Harp, which is played with the fingers.
