Flute recital with piano
PROGRAM
Nikos Nikopoulos, principal flute with the National Opera of Greece and a much in demand soloist in the Greek classical scene, plays an active role in the popularisation of the instrument in his country,
He appears regularly with all major orchestras of his country. Recently he appeared in Athens Festival performing Mozart Concerto with Vienna Chamber Orchestra. He is also active in chamber music, appearing with various instrumental combinations and being member of the Choriambus Duo with harpist Georgia Xagara, with whom he performs in various international festivals and conventions.
He has been repeatedly invited by the famous violinist L. Kavakos to his chamber music Cycle which takes place in Athens Concert Hall, where he collaborated with internationally acclaimed musicians, such as C. Warren-Green, C. Hogwood, P. Demenga, D. Poppen, P. Nagy, etc.
He also appears regularly at the International Classical Music Festival of Cyclades, invited by Y. Margaziotis. He teaches at “Ph. Nakas” Conservatoire,

ZOI TSOKANOU
The greek conductor and pianist Zoi Tsokanou was born in Thessaloniki, Greece. In December 2010 she competed her studies in orchestral conducting under prof. Johannes Schlaefli at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste, in Zürich, Switzerland. She also has a master degree in piano Performance, class of prof. Konstantin Scherbakov, and a Musicology degree from the Aristotle University in Thessaloniki.
She has participated in conducting master classes with Bernard Haitink (Lucerne Festival 2011,2012), Stefan Asbury, Howard Griffiths, opera conducting with Norbert Baxa, Piano master classes with Paul Badura Scoda, Victor Merzhanov, James Tocco and Peter Feuchtwanger.
Recent engagements included appearences with the Athens Radio symphony orchestra, the Regensburg philarmonic orchestra, the Biel symphony orchestra, the youth orchestra Oikomusica in Tübingen. She was one of the second round finalists of the 5th international competition Lovro von Matacic in Zagreb and semifinalist in the RNCM junior fellowship in conducting Auditions in Manchester.
Since February 2009 she has been working as associate conductor with the western bohemian symphony Orchestra in Marienbad, Czech Republic. She has also collaborated and performed through conducting Workshops with the Festival Strings Lucerne, Kollegium Winterthur, Bern Chamber Orchestra, Kollegium Musicum Basel, Teplice, Hradec Kralove, Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra and many other important orchestras.
In the field of Opera, she had engagements with the Regensburg Opera House, pocket opera company Zurich, contemporary opera Zurich, swiss opera studio Biel, oper schloss Halwyll, Operton Zurich, Grauminus and she is the musical director of the Arosa Music Theater for 2011 and 2012. At the same time she performs as a song accompanist and chamber musician in concert.
