Theophilos Labrianidis : Piano
Christos Kalkanis was born in Athens in 1983. He commenced his studies at the Experimental Musical High School of Pallini in 1995 and graduated in 2001. He is currently continuing his studies in higher education as a student of the School of Musical Science and Arts of the University of Macedonia, in the direction of European Music specialising in the clarinet; he has studied under M. Moumoulidis and M. Ploumidis. He is also currently studying at the State Conservatory of Music of Thessaloniki, under G. Kazikos.
He has participated in Master Classes under: Miltos Moumoulidis, Antonio Salguero, Oatmari Zsolt, Chico Freeman. As a part of his musical activities, he has played with the symphonic orchestra of the Experimental Musical High School of Pallini, the symphonic orchestra of the School of Musical Science and Arts department of the University of Macedonia, the Wind Band and the symphonic orchestra of the State Conservatory of Music of Thessaloniki, and the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Municipality of Thessaloniki.
He has played in many concerts given by students of the Conservatory of Music of Thessaloniki and the School of Musical Science and Arts, and in chamber music concerts by the School of Musical Science and Arts. He has presented pieces of the students of the Composition Specialty of the School of Musical Science and Arts in first execution. Finally, in 2008 he was awarded with a distinction in the Panhellenic competition for Woodwind instruments of the Association of Thessaloniki Music School Graduates.
Theophilos Lambrianidis was born in Thessaloniki in 1986. He attended his first music lessons at the Municipal Conservatory of Katerini, from where he graduated with certificates in Harmony, Counterpoint, and a Piano Diploma (class of G. Adamidis). Since 2004 he has studied at the School of Musical Science and Arts of the University of Macedonia, where he is currently in his final year in the direction of Contemporary Music, specialising in Composition.
He has composed chamber music pieces, vocals and pieces for solo instruments. He has participated in chamber music concerts and phonetic music. He also has participated in the Athens Festival and the First Biennale of Contemporary Music of Thessaloniki, where he presented part of his compositions. He has presented many pieces in first execution.
Since 2007 he has been studying the piano with Lola Totsiou. He has attended the Piano Master Class with Bernd Goetzke, and the 2nd-5th Experimental Workshop “Something to transpire” by L. Totsiou.
He is part of a piano duo with Panagiotis Glistis, under the name Duo Dollypop.
